This position in based out of our Farmingdale Location, but the QA Director will be expected to travel to different programs as necessary.

FLSA Status: 



Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

On call as needed


The Director of Quality Assurance develops and implements policies relating to Quality Assurance and Improvement. The Director of Quality Assurance will oversee the Quality Assurance department and Monitor QA Systems. The Director of Quality Assurance will relay information regarding state and agency compliance, while upholding agency-programming standards. As well as, direct the department in an effort to maintain operating compliance and to ensure the highest level of quality services to all our service recipients.  In addition, the QA Director will provide technical assistance and support to programs to enhance their quality of programming.  Additional functions, include IRC Chair, Agency Incident Investigations and Corporate Compliance functions. 

Detail of Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Performs ongoing examinations of program functions, system basis and provides systematic follow up to all program functions;
  2. Conduct unannounced visits to, OPTS, all residential facilities, the day program and the afterschool program to observe staff interactions and to ensure that the programs are in compliance and following the “blue print” of each program
  3. Provides detailed reports monthly to CEO which indicates areas of weakness, non-compliance and deficiencies according to agency protocol standards.Performs audit reviews on all MSC, Community Habilitation and At Home Programs in the agency
  4. Responsible for maintaining appropriate documents, records, statistics, and write reports, evaluations, and the like in an organized, timely and accurate manner
  5. Assist in the development of agency’s Quality Assurance Plan and monitor its implementation
  6. Immediately report any issues of imminent danger directly to supervisor
  7. Notify Chief Executive Officer, Directors, and Supervisors of all noted citations in survey, investigations or administrative review.

Education and/or Experience: 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related Human Services field
  2. One year of prior experience in working with benefits for people with developmental disabilities
  3. Experience in a non-profit environment and OPWDD field preferred

  7. Proficient with Excel, Word, accounting software, web research and email
  8. Ability to produce quality correspondence, spreadsheets, reports and presentations if necessary
